About Us

We're gadget geeks. We love playing with new things and figuring out how they work. We're especially excited by the iPhone. We loved playing with it so much we decided to start a company dedicated to making applications for our favorite new toy and maybe some of your favorite toys too.

Our workspace is as mobile as the devices we build for. While we do have offices in both the charming town of Grand Rapids, Michigan USA and historic Seville, Spain, we're just as likely to be found pushing pixels and typing code in a coffee house down the street .

Who We Are

Our team emerged from a well rounded alphabet soup of degrees (MBAs, B.Engs, B.CS., D.C.S…) and experience (XHTML, C++, CSS, PHP…). We are a team of business wonks, design nerds, and computer geeks obsessed with creating excellent mobile experiences and consuming all sorts of liquid food.

Mark Carpenter - Cofounder, Business Development

Mark is a serial entrepreneur with a keen interest in making connections between people and ideas. His first big technology job was in 1986, building an Access database system for a food processing plant. Amazingly, it's still in use today. Since then Mark has solved hundreds of business problems by leveraging technology.

Mark lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA with his wife and two sets of twins, and as such is a true statistical outlier.

Six Voices was founded in 2008 by Mark Carpenter to make great applications for his favorite gadget.

Roy A. Clark - Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Roy is a leader who influences life and business toward change and growth. He achieves results through building relationships, casting vision, developing leaders, creating teams, and leadership structures that facilitate ownership in those he works with. Roy is a positive and practical achiever who obtains high performance through strong relationships, effective leadership, and goal setting. Roy has been a Pastor, Restauranteur, Counselor, Coach, Executive Director and Mentor. Is there anything he can't do? Now Roy employs his positive firepower to create awesome apps for iPhones everywhere!

Roy resides in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA with his wife and children.

Jonah Bailey - Director of Operations

Jonah has been organizing teams, running interference, and generally being a super hero for over ten years now. In his latest roll at Six Voices he is often our customer's point-of-contact on their projects. He also helps run our office in Seville, Spain. Although we've yet to see him dash for a phone booth, we wouldn't be surprised. Well ... maybe about the phone booth. Do they still have those?

A father of two, Jonah is a fantasy baseball aficionado, and a connoisseur of fine (imported) Starburst candy's.

Ricky Rainbolt - Executive Partner, Business Development

For the past twenty-eight years, Ricky has worked with ambitious entrepreneurs to build their brands and reach their financial goals. He has given over 2,200 seminars and coached executives in raising the quality of their sales prospects, increasing conversions and improving margins. His great success led him to write the book MEGA Brander which promises to offer even more people the benefit of his expertise.

On his best days, Ricky begins by helping Six Voices' clients use mobile applications to strategically build their brands. Then, in the evening, he finds a spot on the beach next to his wife to sip cold margaritas and listen to Jimmy Buffet.

Richard Shupert - Executive Partner, Ministry and Business Development

Since 1974, Richard Shupert has been involved in business operations. He owned three Christian bookstores in Atlanta, Georgia for 17 years and later launched out into sales across North America. He has worked with some of the top Christian authors, pastors and ministries across the USA. He brings over 35 years of connections and business expertise to Six Voices. Currently, he is handling the development and growth of some of our largest accounts worldwide.

Richard is married and lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He has two grown daughters who work in Christian ministry and counseling.

Sharon Burcham - Ministry Business Development

Sharon works with ministries to help them discover how one of our frameworks can bring their content to iPhone and iPod Touch, thus opening up minds and hearts across the globe. She has more than 25 years experience in relational sales and marketing. When you get in touch with Sharon, she might be sitting behind her desk... But it's a lot more likely that she'll be in a coffee shop making connections somewhere in her hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.

Clayton Thompson - Visual Designer

Clayton is a graduate of Texas Tech with a degree in Graphic Design. He had worked for a number of educational institutions and non-profit organizations before joining the Six Voices team. He works out of our Seville office. If you ever get the chance to stop by, you really must see him swing a Photoshop lasso — it's a thing to behold. Not to mention his quick draw with a mouse.

Mark Mathis - Software Engineer

Mark is a technology addict who became an Electrical Engineer to calm his cravings. This worked for a while until someone told him that there were no engineering jobs in the US anymore. He proceeded to teach himself Java and has not looked back. Mark has just under a decade of experience in developing n-tier enterprise systems in Java and J2EE technology for multiple industries. His technology cravings have recently resurfaced in the form of mobile development on the iPhone and Android platform.

Mark resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife, cat and new son. When he is not beating his head against his MacBook, he enjoys playing and recording music.
